Alejandro Peters / collage art

I believe that destruction is a form of creation. I cut, I paste, I create.

My collage journey started right before the pandemic, since 2020 my art has been evolving, my work is both analog and digital, I like to put my hands on old magazines, books and all stuff.

Creative director, copywriter, and collage artist based in Guatemala. I make ads for a living and art to stay sane. Both involve finding the right cut.

THE WORKSPACE

Thanks for following my journey! I gave myself some days off from the blog, I’m back at it with fresh news and small drops of “collage stories”, stay tuned because this month was busy, crazy and meaningful.

My Instagram’s search bar always displays art, dogs, collage works, and lately, aesthetic workspaces.

As I was looking these amazing spaces, one memory came back to my mind in the early days when I moved to Guatemala City, I remember renting a “cuartito” in Zona 10… This cozy bedroom had an old TV, a bed and a fridge, I was missing a small table to eat, work and maybe put my glasses at night. I went to a store and bought a big box made of carton, this box was my workspace for a few months until I throw it away. Fifteen years later… I’m at my house, working in my studio and feeling blessed to have a decent workspace. Unfortunately, I don’t have a pic of that room, I remember saving one on my e-mail but I can’t find it, instead, I’m sharing a pic from my current workspace, it’s a huge leap but that came with hard work and keeping in mind that anything is possible.
